What exactly is BULLION STITCH EMBROIDERY
Bullion stitch is embroidery that uses thread coils to create decorative patterns. It can be used for both surface embellishment and for creating dimensional shapes.
The stitch is worked by wrapping the thread around a needle several times then pulling it through the fabric. The resulting coils create a textured effect that can be quite striking when done in a contrasting color. Bullion stitch can be used on almost any fabric and is particularly well-suited for delicate fabrics like silk or organza. Its not an intricate stitch to learn, but it does take some practice to get the hang of it. Once you have mastered it, though, you will be able to create beautiful, unique embroidery pieces.
